Senior Planner Engineer


The primary role of the Senior Planner is to proactively support the project by managing the planning process and planning personals, this position is responsible for providing planning expertise and supporting the project manager in managing the schedule and ensuring the maximum benefit for the project.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Work, execute and supervise the planning function during the design and construction stages of the assigned project.
  • Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view of continuously improving systems, personal and team performance
  • Responsible for handing over a complete planning/scheduling service to the project
  • Responsible with the project manager for updating and improving the reviews schedule
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as required and analyze the contractors report
  • Liaise with all concerned departments on the relevant planning issues
  • Prepare the regular status report and forecasts for the project management
  • Maintain the Current and baseline schedule, analyze the effect of proposed changes and maintain the baseline schedule, analyze the impact of proposed changes and maintain the baseline change control authorization
  • Manage the effective coordination and cooperation between all parties
  • Maintain a high level of communication / interface with other project control departments
  • Monitor planning applications to ensure project data integrity
  • Understand all relevant documentation pertaining to the construction phase of the project including scope of services, condition of the contracts, project execution plan, project schedule, etc
  • Work within standard project planning procedures; ensure that these procedures comply with contractual reporting requirements
  • Obtain from operating groups, the latest information pertinent to planning and ensuring its accuracy
  • Prepare and record changes to the schedule
  • Ensure reconciliation on regular basis
  • Ensure integrity of the data being processed
  • Assist the project manager in identifying and monitoring critical paths within the schedule
  • Produce weekly management report
  • Ensure schedules are progressed objectively according to project procedures
  • Maintaining the Critical path diagram to ensure project target dates are met.

Job Description Qualifications

  • Proven Computer literally skills with experience in cost and project control computer applications
  • High experience in Mega projects and especially high raise buildings
  • Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of industry practices in cost control activity
  • Demonstrate in-depth with Microsoft Projects
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience
  • Minimum 5 Years in a senior position in a well-named company
  • BSc Degree in engineering
  • Experience with the Egyptian market
